THE
PLANS.
Three things in one place: what is being dug up on your street, where the big projects actually stand, and a search of the Town’s own planning papers. Every fact here links back to the page it came from, in the Town’s words, so you can check it yourself.
The sewage plant — the one nobody has studied yet
Everything that goes down a drain in Collingwood ends up here. There is more room left in it than there is in the water plant, but the Town has not yet finished working out whether it can handle the town we are being told to build.

Where it stands today
No expansion approved and no study finished. A review of whether the plant can meet future growth was due to begin in the spring of 2026. At the end of 2025 the Town reported room for roughly 4,600 more homes.
- 20 April 2026A study landed
A report to council said how much room is left in the sewage plant for new homes.
about 4,706 cubic metres a day — roughly 4,636 homes
Show me where it says that
“the uncommitted hydraulic reserve capacity for the wastewater system is approximately 4,706m3/d (4,636 SDUs).”

Show me where it says that
“A review of Collingwood's wastewater treatment plant to meet future growth needs is scheduled to commence in Q2 of 2026 through a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) process.”

What nobody has published yet
- Whether the study actually started in the spring of 2026. Nothing published says it did.
- What expanding the plant would cost, and when it would be needed. No estimate has been published.
- How the room left in the sewage plant lines up with the much tighter room left in the water plant. The Town reports them separately and does not reconcile them.
Researched from the Town’s own pages and council material on 18 October 2026. Every quote is copied word for word and links to where it is written. This is my campaign’s page, not a Town of Collingwood product, and the record is still moving — check the links before relying on anything here. If I have something wrong, tell me and I will fix it and say that I did.
