Who protects what
Town of Collingwood
The official plan and zoning by-law say what a neighbourhood is for. The Town also keeps the heritage register and the downtown heritage district. Phone 705-445-1030. Zoning polygons are not in this tool yet.
NVCA
The conservation authority maps flooding, erosion, wetlands and watercourses, and permits work inside that area. Phone 705-424-1479. The regulated-area layer is live. A separate flood line and a shoreline-hazard line were not available to download.
Niagara Escarpment Commission
The Commission plans the escarpment and permits development in the control area. Phone 905-877-5191. Designations and the control area are live.
The Province and Canada
The Province writes the Provincial Planning Statement, maps wetlands, areas of scientific interest, woods and the 1 km species grid, and keeps exact species records and archaeological sites off the public map. Canada maps aquatic critical habitat and looks after fish habitat. Source-water zones are from the South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe plan, drawn on the County map.

- County tree-cutting permits. These are County tree-cutting permits already issued, not a map of where a permit is required, and not the Town's tree by-law. The service counted permits but refused to return the shapes, so none are drawn. Ask County of Simcoe. Contact.
