HELP US
BUILD THIS.

Your support helps reach residents, organize volunteers and build a campaign focused on listening, practical ideas and accountable results.

GIVE ONLINE

EVERY
CONTRIBUTION
IS RECEIPTED.

The most one person may give this campaign is $1200.00. Your total is counted across everything you give, not per contribution, and this form checks it before it takes anything.

Contributions go to the campaign’s own bank account and appear in the financial statement filed with the Town after the election.

CHOOSE AN AMOUNT

Your address is required by law on the campaign’s financial statement if your total contributions go over $100. We ask everyone so it is never a surprise later.

You will be taken to our payment provider’s secure page to enter your card. This website never sees your card details. Municipal contributions are not income-tax deductible.

2026 ONTARIO MUNICIPAL CAMPAIGN

THE RULES, BEFORE THE ASK.

Municipal campaign finance in Ontario is strict, and the limits are on you as much as on the campaign. These apply whichever way you give.

The self-funding limit is not $25,000. A candidate and their spouse may contribute more than an ordinary contributor, but the amount is set by a statutory formula for head of council and certified by the municipal clerk. It is not automatically the $25,000 ceiling, and it is not a cap on what the campaign may raise from residents.
OTHER WAYS TO GIVE

CHEQUE, E-TRANSFER OR CASH.

Not everyone wants to give online, and the campaign takes contributions three other ways. All of them are recorded and receipted exactly the same, and all of them count towards the same $1,200 limit.

BY POST

CHEQUE.

Made payable to the campaign’s official account. Write your full name and residential address on the back. The campaign is required to record both, and cannot receipt a contribution without them.

Where to send it: write to jon@hilliscwoodmayor.com and the campaign will send you the mailing address.

BY TRANSFER

E-TRANSFER.

To the campaign’s registered account. Put your full name in the message field, and expect the campaign to come back to you for your residential address before the contribution can be recorded.

Where to send it: ask at jon@hilliscwoodmayor.com and it is sent to you — the account is not printed here, so it cannot be scraped off a public page.

IN PERSON

CASH.

Up to $25. Ontario does not allow a cash contribution above that, so anything more has to come by a traceable method — cheque, e-transfer or card — and the campaign will ask you to give it one of those ways instead.

What we need from you: your full name and residential address, at the time. A contribution cannot be receipted without them, and a receipt is written for every one.

WHAT THE CAMPAIGN DOES WITH IT

RECORDED, THEN RECEIPTED.

Every contribution is entered against your name and address in the campaign’s contribution ledger, checked against the $1,200 limit, and receipted. The totals are filed with the Town in the campaign’s financial statement after the election, and contributions over $100 are named there.
